Welcome to Website Change Tracker – Alert ("the App"), developed by Youssef Boukhrais ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our Android application available on the Google Play Store.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. Our App is designed with a privacy-first approach — we do not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

We want to be completely transparent: the App does not collect any of the following:

• Personal information — No names, email addresses, phone numbers, or account details are collected or required.
• Usage data — No analytics, telemetry, or behavioral tracking of any kind.
• Device identifiers — No IMEI, advertising IDs, or device fingerprints are accessed or transmitted.
• Location data — No GPS, Wi-Fi, or network-based location is collected.
• Browsing history — While the App loads websites for element selection, this data is processed entirely on-device and is never transmitted externally.

As confirmed on our Google Play Store listing: No data is shared with third parties. No data is collected.

3. How the App Works

The App allows you to monitor specific elements on websites for changes. Here is how your data is handled:

• Website URLs and selectors that you add for monitoring are stored locally on your device using Android DataStore with JSON serialization. This data never leaves your device.
• Website content is fetched directly from the monitored URLs to detect changes. This fetching happens on your device using your internet connection. No copy of this content is stored on any server.
• Change detection is performed using SHA-256 hash comparison entirely on-device.
• Notifications are generated locally by the Android system when changes are detected.

4. Permissions

The App requests the following Android permissions:

• INTERNET — Required to fetch web pages you have chosen to monitor. The App uses this solely to load the content of URLs you explicitly add.
• POST_NOTIFICATIONS (Android 13+) — Required to display alerts when changes are detected on monitored websites. You can revoke this permission at any time through your device settings.

No other permissions are requested or used.

5. Third-Party Services

The App does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or tracking SDKs. There are no third-party services that receive any data from the App.

6. Data Storage and Security

• All data — including tracked URLs, CSS selectors, check intervals, and change history — is stored exclusively on your device using Android's built-in DataStore (Jetpack DataStore with JSON).
• No cloud backup, sync, or remote storage is currently implemented.
• Data is not encrypted at rest beyond what Android provides by default for app-specific storage.
• If you uninstall the App, all associated data is permanently deleted from your device.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is rated for ages 3+ and does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Since no data is collected, COPPA requirements are inherently satisfied.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App or legal requirements. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
