Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about Website Change Tracker.

What does Website Change Tracker do?

Website Change Tracker monitors any website for changes and sends you instant notifications. You can visually select which part of a page to track using an interactive WebView picker — no CSS knowledge required.

Is the app free?

Yes, the app is completely free to download and use. There are no ads, no in-app purchases, and no subscription fees.

Does the app collect my data?

No. The app collects zero data. All your trackers are stored locally on your device using Android DataStore. No data is shared with third parties or transmitted to any server.

How often does it check for changes?

You can configure the monitoring interval with a minimum of 15 minutes. Background monitoring is powered by WorkManager and continues even when the app is closed.

How does the change detection work?

The app uses SHA-256 cryptographic hashing to compare page content between checks. This ensures accurate detection with zero false positives — you only get notified when content actually changes.

What Android version is required?

Website Change Tracker requires Android 8.0 (API level 26) or higher. The app is built with Jetpack Compose and Material Design 3 for a modern, native experience.

Can I track multiple elements on the same page?

Currently, you can track one element per tracker. Multiple element tracking per page is coming soon in a future update.

What happens if I uninstall the app?

All your tracker data is permanently deleted from your device. Since no data is stored in the cloud, it cannot be recovered after uninstallation.
